Fleadh Ceoil na hEireann – Wheelchair Ducks Go Swimming
Irish Wheelchair Association, Cavan Resource and Outreach Centre will hold a fundraising Duck Race on the Kinnypottle river (beside the bus station) on Saturday 21st August. We hope to raise much needed funds to support the running of our Resource and Outreach Centre based at Corlurgan Business Park, Ballinagh Rd. Cavan. Donncha O Dulaing’s ‘Flight of the Earls Walk’
99 of Ireland’s noble elite left Ireland in 1607 to find refuge in Europe. Donncha O Dulaing is looking for 98 people to join him on a journey, following in the footsteps of O’Neill, from Ireland through France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Walkers will leave Ireland on the 20th September 2010 and returning to Ireland on 30th September. IWA’s National Fundraising Campaign takes place during the month of November.
Our Angel Pins and Angel pencils will be available nationwide for €2 each. Each
year volunteers, staff, members, their friends and family help raise funds for essential

Car raffle

Our Super Ford Focus Draw takes place on 8th. December 2010. Tickets cost €2 each or a book for €50. Sellers prize of €200. The winner of our 2009 Ford Focus was Paul Kinsella, Graiguecullen, Co. Carlow
About IWA Fundraising
Voluntary fundraising plays a vital role in funding IWA's services for people with disabilities in Ireland. Throughout the year, we are involved in a range of events. These events are run locally and nationally.
Local level activities include: Church gate
collections, Golf Classics, Quiz evenings, Flag Days etc. The national campaigns
include: International walks, Angel Day,
Car raffle draw, Christmas and Easter hampers.
We also have IWA Christmas Cards available every year.
We wish to express a sincere thank you to all the ladies who participated in
the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon on Monday 7th June on behalf of IWA and raised
much needed funds.

To everyone who contributed to our 2009 Angel Campaign, the Irish Wheelchair Association would like to say A Big Thank You. Without your support, we could not provide some of the services that are so vital to our 20,000 members nationwide.
The monies raised through the campaign help to fund IWA's services at 68 locations around the country, including resource and outreach centres,
assisted living services, youth activities, driving tuition and assessment, information and respite services.
