Why come to AGM
IWA Annual General Meeting and Conference 2017
Saturday, 13th May 2017 in the INEC, Killarney.
Why come to AGM 2017
Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) is very proud of its history and one of the key aspects of that history is the involvement of members at every level and in every aspect of the Association’s work.
The Association is owned by its members and people with disabilities who wish to live their lives as part of their community and with the same rights and entitlements as every other member of society.
Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) is Ireland’s leading representative organisation and service provider for people with physical disabilities. We advocate for the needs of people with physical disabilities and provide services and support to over 20,000 members in their homes and communities throughout Ireland every year.
IWA holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and a national conference to which all members and key stakeholders are invited. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, 13th May 2017 in the INEC, Killarney.
The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Breaking Boundaries’. The conference will include an address from Mr. Paul McNeive, a chartered surveyor and managing director of Hamilton Osborne King when the firm was sold to Savills for €50m. Paul started his career as a trainee in the basement of the firm and not even the loss of his legs in a fire prevented him from rising to the top position to lead 250 staff. Paul will be addressing delegates in relation to resilience, adversity and maximising your personal potential. Following this, delegates in attendance will explore issues and topics based on the theme of the conference.
