Overall Purpose of Job
To manage and develop IWA’s Resource and Outreach services for people with physical and sensory disability and develop a range of new services in the area.  To ensure the long-term integration of people with physical disability into all aspects of Irish society through the appropriate use of a person centered approach.
For the successful implementation of this role there are a number of key relationships, which should be fostered and developed.  Internally there will be a high level of interaction with associated IWA staff, service users and volunteers.  Externally a high level of promotional contact will need to be established and developed with the HSE, local authorities, community groups and any other relevant statutory or voluntary agencies.
Training, Experience and Qualifications


  • A degree or professional qualification in one of the following disciplines: Applied Social Studies/Registered Nurse/ Social Worker / Community Work, and/or General Management is essential

  • A minimum of 5 years of people management experience is essential, including previous experience of working within disability sector or similar services

Knowledge and Skills
  • Computer literate including use of databases and Microsoft Office suite is essential

  • A full driving license and own car are required

  • Strong communication, creativity, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills

  • Experience of working with people with disabilities or a marginalised group

Remuneration & Benefits
  • Salary between €40,209 and €48,496 (DOE)
