An Evening of Fashion and Design with Gerald Kean
Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) Drogheda was delighted to host a star studded fashion show which took place on Friday, 12th June 2015 in the Westcourt Hotel, West Street, Drogheda. The event saw local models take to the runway with high street, boutique and exclusive designs from some of Drogheda’s best known retail outlets showcased on the night.
A number of local IWA members, staff and volunteers also took to the catwalk in order to raise funds for the essential services the Association provides to people with physical disabilities and others with reduced mobility living in Drogheda and the surrounding areas. The fashion show was hosted by IWA supporter Gerald Kean.
Speaking about the important fundraising event, Geraldine Lennon IWA Service Coordinator explained:
Irish Wheelchair Association is one of the leading service providers in Drogheda and the funds raised through the upcoming fashion show will allow us to continue to have a real impact on the lives of people with disabilities. Currently we support over 60 people and their families from our Day Centre on Mayoralty Street.
We have ambitious plans for the next two years and it is the support of those like Gerald Kean, local businesses, schools and colleges and all the retail outlets who have kindly assisted us with the fashion show that helps us to achieve them.
Well-known fashion brands for men, women and children were modelled on the evening with performances from Fit Kids/ Fit Teens, Grand Jazz, Lolo Robinson Dancing School, the Conlon Sisters and Leanne Casey.
