IWA Wins National Q Mark Award
Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) was recently awarded the coveted title of ‘Best Not For Profit Company in Ireland for Quality Management Systems’ at the National Q Mark Awards 2014. The National Q Mark Awards celebrate businesses and organisations that consistently create new operating benchmarks in order to best serve the Irish consumer, and are awarded by the Excellence Ireland Quality Association (EIQA).‘The Pioneers of Excellence’ and ‘The Innovators of Business in Ireland’ are just some of the accolades used to describe the winners of this year’s Q Mark Awards which were held in Dublin’s Double Tree by Hilton Hotel. Speaking about this significant achievement, Mary Smyth, Director of Quality & Standards, Policy & Member supports explained:
Winning this award gives the Association confidence that we are providing high quality person centred services that are in tune with our customer’s needs. Due to IWA’s ethos of strict adherence to the highest standards of governance, transparency and accountability including voluntarily adopting the Statement of Guiding Principles for fundraising and the Governance Code, a Voluntary Code of Practice for good Governance of Community, Voluntary and Charitable organisations in Ireland, IWA has been recognised as one of the leading innovators in the field”
Alongside the retention of services, IWA has continued to develop new services and introduce enhancements to ensure that quality and continuous improvement cycles are maintained. A dedicated Quality & Standards Department was established within the Association in 2013. Since then, IWA has achieved the Q Mark certification for its business processes, Best Not For Profit Company in Quality Management Systems, the EIQA ABLE tourism award and most recently the National Q Mark Award for Best Not For Profit Company in Quality Management Systems.
