Super Ford Focus Draw Winner
Lucky motorist, Lynn McDevitt from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal could not believe her luck as she collected a brand new Ford Focus, after purchasing a ticket for just €2 from Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA). Each year the Association partners with Ford Ireland to raise funds for the essential services which IWA provides to people with disabilities throughout Ireland. For a second year in a row the winner of their annual Super Ford Focus Car Draw has come from Donegal.
The Super Ford Focus Car Draw is an important fundraising initiative for the Association which provides over 2 million hours of services annually to people with disabilities in their own homes and communities. IWA’s busy Resource and Outreach Centre located in Manorcunningham, Letterkenny provides educational and recreational opportunities as well as a range of personal supports to individuals of all age groups living in Letterkenny and the surrounding areas.
Lynn placed her aunt’s name ‘Zena Corrigan’ on the winning ticket for good luck, which paid off today as she drove away in a new 2015 Ford Focus. John Mangan, who is a member of the Irish Wheelchair Association sold the winning ticket to Lynn and joined her for the celebrations:
I am a long term supporter of the Irish Wheelchair Association and volunteer regularly with the Fundraising Department to organise dances, sell Angel products for their annual Angel Campaign, and most recently tickets for the Super Ford Focus Car Draw. I am delighted that a local woman who I sold a ticket to gets to drive away today in a brand new car.
Hegarty’s Auto Services who are Donegal’s main Ford Dealers were happy to be in a position to support the important work and services which Irish Wheelchair Association provides throughout Donegal, as Paddy McKinney, Sales Manager explained:
Last year we arranged for the winner of the Super Ford Focus Car Draw to have his new vehicle specially adapted for his individual requirements. We aim to offer safe vehicles which are both affordable and easily adapted, so that as many people with disabilities as possible can enjoy the benefits of being on the road. We were delighted to learn that once again the Association had a Donegal winner and we wish Lynn and her family the best of luck with her new Ford Focus.
All funds raised through IWA fundraising initiatives are immediately invested into essential services which IWA provides to people with physical disabilities and other mobility impairments in their own homes and communities.
