Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon 2015
Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) are inviting women from all over Ireland tojoin DJ and Presenter Louise Clarke for the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon 2015 as she supports their Angel Team and raises vital funds for the services the Association provides and throughout Ireland. Together with the Angel Team, Louise will be signing up for the Women’s Mini Marathon which takes place on the June Bank Holiday Monday in Dublin City Centre and will be giving training tips, fundraising advice and information about the Mini Marathon on her programme each week.
The Women’s Mini Marathon is an important fundraising initiative for the Association which provides over 2 million hours of services annually to people with disabilities in their own homes and communities. IWA’s 57 Resource and Outreach Centre located in towns and communities nationwide provide educational and recreational opportunities as well as a range of personal supports to individuals of all age groups.
Speaking about the event iRadio’s Louise Clarke said:
The Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon will take place on Monday, 1st June 2015 when approximately 40,000 women will cover the 10k route throughout Dublin, in what will be for many a personal challenge, a great day out or a chance to raise vital funds for their charity of choice.
I will be supporting Irish Wheelchair Association and I am delighted to have the chance to assist IWA’s Angel Team to raise much needed funds for the Association.
So let’s get together to support IWA’s Angel Team and help make a real difference to the lives of people with disabilities living in our communities.
Each year women from all over Ireland take part in this special event which sees almost €12 million raised for charities annually. This year the Association hopes that participants will choose IWA as their charity of choice and join the Angel Team to help raise essential funds for the range of services IWA provides to people with disabilities in their homes and communities throughout Ireland. IWA Fundraising Development Coordinator, Charlene Hurley said:
IWA is looking for ladies of all ages, fitness levels and abilities to join our ‘Angel Team’, as we know that our services can be a vital support for so many people, and many ladies considering taking part may have a neighbour, friend or family member who is relying on the vital services we provide on a daily basis. As one of the leading service providers in Ireland the funds raised by participants in the Women’s Mini Marathon allows us to continue to have a real impact on the lives of people with disabilities.
All funds raised through IWA fundraising initiatives are immediately invested into essential services which IWA provides to people with physical disabilities and other mobility impairments in their own homes and communities.
