What a night!!

What a night!!

In March of this year I went to see the Script with my mum and my boyfriend. I was so excited to see my favourite band. I had wanted to see them for a long time. My cousin was lucky enough to see them in concert a few years ago and she said they were brilliant.

My mum and I drove to the venue in our car and my boyfriend drove himself. At this stage my anxiety started to increase. I was worried about my boyfriend driving all the way into town because he had only been driving on his own for three months. I knew he would be fine but I couldn’t help worrying.

Despite the traffic we managed to get there on time and my anxiety settled down a bit. Usually when I go out to big venues such as these my anxiety would get very bad so I was delighted at how well I was doing.

I was singing along to every song and screaming with excitement!! The concert was around an hour and a half long - a bit too short in my opinion but overall it was a great night which I feel that I haven’t been able to have for quite a while because of my anxiety.

My favourite songs by The Script are Hall of Fame and Superheroes because to me they send a strong message that anyone can do anything they want to and they shouldn’t let anything get in their way. I have to remember this because I can be quite hard on myself especially when it comes to my anxiety. I’m getting better at not beating myself up about it but sometimes I still find it hard. I’m learning how be positive too - I find it hard but I’m improving.

I have to say there were a lot of things to do with the environment that I was in that would usually stress me out but I guess I was distracted because I was having so much fun.

I would love to see The Script again! It was an amazing concert and a great night made all the more special by the fact that my anxiety didn’t get in the way of me having fun.
