Zone Youth Cafe
Get in the 'Zone' with new Foroige Youth Cafe in Dublin 15
IWA Youth Service is teaming up with Foroige, the National Youth Organisation, to offer a new social opportunity to young people with physical disabilities living in the Dublin 15 area.
New Youth Cafe
The Zone Youth Cafe is a new youth cafe launched by Foroige in the Phibblestown/Ongar area. It's a safe space for 14 to 17 year-olds to hang out, make new friends, and have a bit of craic together. Young people are at the centre of all that happens in the cafe and they are encourged to get involved in making decisions about their cafe with support from youth workers and volunteers.
IWA is getting involved
Young people from IWA Youth Service will be dropping in to the Zone during April and May to check it out and meet some of their peers from around the area. This is a great chance for young people to go along and try out a local youth space with support from Irish Wheelchair Association. IWA Youth Work staff will be heading along with the group to lend a hand and make sure everyone settles in and has a good time.
Working with Foroige
Foroige has been very supportive in working with IWA Youth Service to make sure that the Zone will be an inclusive youth space where everyone is welcome. Based in a modern fully wheelchair accessible community facility, the Zone Youth Cafe is just getting off the ground so now is the perfect time for young people from IWA to join up and get invovled in things right from the start. For anyone not living within travelling distance of the Dublin 15 area, IWA Youth Workers will be happy to put you in touch with your local youth club and help you check out if it's the right place for you.
