Minister for Disabilities Visits Cuisle

Minister of State for Disabilities, Finian McGrath TD, along with local councillors and T.D’s; Deputy Eugene Murphy, Cllr. Orla Leyden, Senator Maura Hopkins, Cllr. Liam Callaghan and Cllr. Ivan Connaughton spent the afternoon with guests and local members of Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) at Cuisle Holiday Centre, located on the grounds of Donamon Castle, Co. Roscommon on Monday, 13th March 2017.

Cuisle Holiday Centre is Ireland’s leading wheelchair accessible resort, where highly trained and friendly staff specialise in providing respite care and supported holidays and breaks to people with physical disabilities. Cuisle Holiday Centre provides a comfortable and relaxing environment in which guests and their families can relax and enjoy activities in the local area.

Minister McGrath alongside the other local TD’s and Councillors spent a relaxing afternoon, touring the range of facilities and supports available from Cuisle Holiday Centre, including; leisure suite and outdoor gym, hair salon, 34 en-suite bedrooms and the fully accessible Castle restaurant.

IWA were delighted to welcome Minister McGrath for his first visit to Cuisle Holiday Centre. The tour was kindly arranged by local TD, Deputy Eugene Murphy and it was an excellent opportunity for staff, members and volunteers to meet with local councillors and T.D’s also. The afternoon was spent discussing the range of accessible services and supports provided to people with physical disabilities and their families from Cuisle Holiday Centre, which is officially open 20 years this June.
