The Senior Athlete Training Support Programme aims to support IWA-Sport Athletes from the age of 15 years
As a result of the Covid Pandemic, traditional means of engagement in our sports and training are proving more and more difficult to obtain, This programme is aimed to bridge that gap, offering virtual training sessions led by Alan Dineen (See Bio Below) to support you in a bid to remain fit and focused on your health and well being while in the various stages of lockdown

Alan Dineen is a Strength and Conditioning coach working out of ACLAÍ Strength and Movement in Cork. Alan has over 5 years’ experience in the strength and conditioning field plus over 10 years’ experience in team settings. Having represented Ireland in Wheelchair Rugby at multiple European Championships and a World Championships he has plenty of experience in high performance.
Alan has a BSc in Strength and Conditioning from Setanta College and is currently studying for an MSc in Performance Coaching from Setanta College. Alan’s area of expertise includes athletic development, injury prevention and disability training.
Being an integral part to the development of an inclusive training program in ACLAÍ, he has taken tried and tested methods of training and moulded them into a functional training method that is applicable for all has been one of Alan’s proudest coaching experiences so far. Alan has also been involved in the strength and conditioning set up for Irish Wheelchair Basketball and Rebel Wheelers Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Rugby.
