Hello readers, The wide variety of stories in this August edition of Spoke Out reflects the busyness of the organisation throughout the country.

We love seeing our members reaching goals and personal milestones, like Leah Crowley who is celebrating her first year living independently in her new home, and teen table tennis player Kevin O’Callaghan who is hoping to compete at the next Paralympics.

Also inside Richard McCann writes about his first solo trip as a wheelchair user which took him to Galway City while Ellen Garvey tells us why she is campaigning for therapy support dogs to be allowed on public transport and in public places.

Stephen Reynolds shares his experience of working in retail while members give their take on inclusive discos, plus we have lots of other interesting updates and articles.

In other news, we are seeking volunteers to help with IWA’s National Fundraising Day which takes place on Thursday September 24th. If you have a few hours to spare to join us on the streets with collection buckets, please email Ferelith at fund@iwa.ie
