THE POSITION
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of People and Development is a strategic leadership position responsible for shaping and implementing progressive HR strategies, policies and practices to deliver the IWA’s strategic objectives.
The Director of People and Development will ensure the efficient and effective management of all HR operations and will provide support and guidance to managers and other members of staff on all people-related challenges. This role plays a crucial part in fostering a positive work environment, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting the strategic vision of IWA.
REQUIREMENTS
Suitably qualified and interested candidates will be operating at Senior Management level with proven experience in managing all aspects of HR, ideally gained in a not-for-profit or public sector environment. Technical competence coupled with the ability to drive strategic delivery will be required.
Candidates must also possess a solid knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures, practices and employment law and a proven ability of applying updated legislation to a variety of situations. The successful candidate will be adept at influencing and reporting at the highest levels, able to communicate effectively and have strong project management skills.
The appointee will be highly motivated with excellent initiative and will have a strong personal and professional commitment to upholding, promoting, and implementing the mission, vision and values of the organisation.
