As the Paralympic Games draw closer with each day that passes by, IWA-Sport are proud to announce their ambassadors, championing the pathway to getting involved in para sports.

Whether your child aims to make it to the pinnacle of para sport and wants to compete at the Paralympic Games, or want to make friends for life in a fun and friendly environment, it all starts at your nearest multi-sport club.

In helping people find the club for them and sharing what para sport means to them, IWA-Sport are delighted to unveil four incredible para athletes as IWA-Sport Ambassadors.

Hailing from Kilkenny, one of the world’s best para athlete shot putters, Mary Fitzgerald. And someone who always hits her targets, and like Mary, represented Ireland at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, para archery athlete, Kerrie Leonard. Patrick Monahan, a man that has raced all over the world and holds the current wheelchair marathon Irish record, while representing Ireland at multiple Paralympic Games. And lastly, taking the para powerlifting world by storm, a great advocate for her multi-sport club, Kingdom Wheelblasters, Niamh Buckley.

All have shared their journey to where they’ve got to today in para sport and why multi-sport clubs are important. On a dedicated page covering how IWA-Sport members perform at the Paris Games, you can read their bios and learn all about our IWA-Sport Ambassadors.
