Irish Wheelchair Association has a national fleet of over 100 wheelchair accessible buses that are specifically adapted to meet the needs of people with physical disabilities.

Our buses and hardworking bus drivers connect people across the country with our services.

In many cases, people simply would not be able to attend our services without our buses, as there is no public transport service available to them. They would be confined to their homes.

Our buses can be seen in every corner of the country, transporting people to and from a wide range of our services, community activities and day outings.

Our buses and hardworking bus drivers connect people across the country with our services.

They are on the road 24/7 transporting young athletes to training, older members to our community centres and young friends out shopping.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, our buses and drivers have been a valued part of our community outreach work, delivering food, and essential items to anyone who needs this. We also collaborated with the HSE to transport tests and testing personnel to nursing homes and residential settings to ensure that these lifesaving tests can get to older people or people with disabilities, who cannot get into a test centre.

Irish Wheelchair Association’s bus fleet is a lifeline. Our buses are entirely supported by public donations and we’re extremely grateful to our supporters in local communities and companies who go to great lengths to keep our wheels turning.
