9 athletes along with 9 Coaching and Support staff travel to Portugal

A total of 18 athletes, coaches and support staff will travel to Portugal for this year’s IWAS Games being held at Vila Real de Santo Antonio.

The athletes will compete in a variety of competitions including Discus, Shot Put, Track, Javelin and Long Jump.

The team is made up of : Ella Sherlock, Trix Schwedler, Shane Curran, Cillian Dunne, Aryell Sheedy, Dale B O’ Sullivan, Cian O’ Neill, Patrick Crossan & Stephen Bradley.

The number of countries taking part: 30 Number of athletes competing: 500 The IWAS Games are designed to give aspiring Paralympians and emerging athletes their first taste of international competition, the Games have helped produce many of the world’s big-name stars. Athletes will compete over four days in a provisional sports programme of para-athletics, para-swimming, para powerlifting and making its IWAS Games debut, Cerebral Palsy football. Ireland hosted the IWAS Games in AIT, Athlone in 2018.
