Rebel Wheelers hold onto top spot in the table following their win over Killester WBC

An action-packed day took place in Clonaslee for round 6 of the IWB Senior League Rd. 6

The day started off with the hosts Clonaslee WBC taking on South East Swifts. The ‘away’ side controlled 3 of the 4 quarters, winning them 17-9, 12-10, 16-6 before the home side took the final quarter 10-2. Jake Hennesey and Patrick O’ Neill were to the fore for the Swifts while Paul Tobin top-scored for Clonaslee. FT Score: 47-35. The result leaves South East Swifts in 3rd while Clonaslee sit bottom of the table.

Game 2 was a much closer battle as Kerry’s Kingdom Wheelblasters took on North East Thunder. Each quarter was evenly matched with shading all but one. The 3rd quarter finished level. The game ended up 47-36 in favour of the Wheelblasters. Tadhg Buckley and Sam Jablansky were the stand out players for each side with special mentions also for Paul Ryan & Brendan Thornton.

Game 3 saw a re-match of the recent National Cup Final with the meeting of Rebel Wheelers and Killester WBC. A great game ensued where the Cork side took the win 51-43. These sides could meet yet again this year and we’ll be expecting a right battle then again.

The final game of the day saw Galway Titan Wheelers face Ballybrack Bulls. This was won in the 3rd quarter where the Titans took control and won 11-2. The game finished 40-25 in favour of the Western side with Stephen Melvin top scorer for Titans and Jack Shannon Cole top-scoring for the Bulls.
