Galway Titans Wheelers were hosts of Round 5 of the IWB Senior League

Round 5 of the IWB Senior League took place in St Mary’s College, Galway last weekend, a full schedule of 4 games played.

The early game saw hosts Galway Titans Wheelers claim victory over  Laois side Clonaslee WBC. A very even game throughout saw the home side edge victory 44-36. Gerry McLoughlin and Stephen Melvin led the way 34 points between them. Paul Tobin was Clonaslee’s top scorer.

Next up, National Cup Finalists Killester WBC took on South East Swifts. The Dublin side led for the whole game but the Swifts were hot on their tail throughout. It finished in a comprehensive win for Killester WBC, 54-34.

In Game 3, National Cup Champions and League leaders Rebel Wheelers took on Kingdom Wheelblasters. The Cork side dominated this game despite the best efforts of the Kerry side. Dylan McCarthy was the Wheelers top scorer with 20 points on the board following by experienced player Derek Hegarty with 15.

The final game of the day saw Louth side North East Thunder take on the Limerick Celtics with the Shannonsiders taking the win after a 60-52 scoreline. Tiarnan O’ Donnell was to the fore for Celtics scoring 21 points followed by Joseph Hargrow who got 19 points on the board and also came through with 13 assists. Sam Jablansky and Turlach Cotter were the main threat for North East Thunder.
