There is just under a week to go before our Annual Fundraising Day which is set to take place on Thursday, 26th September 2024. We are really hoping the sun continues to shine as staff and volunteers across the country set out in the hope of helping to raise vital funds for our organisation.

IWA is dedicated to supporting people with disabilities in communities at a local and national level, helping people live a life full of choice, freedom, and joy. As a charity, we rely on donations to fund and grow essential services. These include sport, accessible homes, transport, assisted living services, and Community Centre programmes plus much more.

This year, IWA is excited to announce that donations can also be made at over 30 Chadwick stores nationwide. Chadwick’s has been a longstanding supporter of IWA at a local level, and their partnership will help further our organisation’s mission to support people with disabilities.

We also want to say a huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers for helping fundraise on the day too. Many are helping to support some very generous and socially conscious schools which will be collecting on the day too.

Stephen Cawley, an IWA member, shared his gratitude for the IWA stating, “They seriously help out with everything, every single problem you could ever think of. There’s really nothing that they won’t go out of their way to help you with. That’s what makes this place so special. I’ve been here for two years, and I hope to be here for many more, so please donate now.” Stephen is among the many who receive a variety of supports from IWA, including our accessible bus service.  “Without IWA’s bus service, many of our members would be isolated in their homes. Without our Community Centres, many would miss out on opportunities for learning and that social connection everyone needs. So much magic happens daily in IWA communities across Ireland and we rely on the generosity of donations to help to continue this amazing work.” Says Breige McGinn, Head of Fundraising at Irish Wheelchair Association.

By making a donation, you can help us continue our important work with people with physical disabilities throughout Ireland.

You can make a donation through one of our on street collectors on Thursday, 26th Sept or you can donate anytime, securely through our website link below.
