Storm Éowyn is due to hit Ireland tonight, Thursday, the 23rdJan from 2 a.m. until tomorrow, Friday, the 24th Jan.

IWA advises you to follow the Government’s advice and stay at home for the duration of the storm.

Essential services will be provided but members may experience some disruption to their normal schedule as we also ensure the safety of our employees.

All IWA community centres will remain closed tomorrow and only essential services will be operating.

We are in the process of reaching out to affected members directly to notify them of the situation and are committed to staying in contact to ensure you are supported during this time.

If you have vital medical equipment that relies on electricity, please ensure that you are registered with the ESB as a priority person. If you are not or have a concern, please contact them today via their website.

Priority assisted living services will continue to operate, and staff will be contactable by their mobiles so please do contact your local coordinator if you need to.

Our reception and office spaces will also remain closed during the storm, you can use our social media channels as another way for you to get in touch with us.

Please also note that the driving school, parking permit offices and IWA-Sport Centre in Clontarf will remain closed on Friday.

Weather reports indicate strong winds so please do not leave your home. There are a few things you can do today to prepare:

  1. Ensure you are registered with ESB or your service provider as a priority.
  2. Charge your mobile phone and equipment batteries.
  3. Have a torch nearby you.
