What

This ‘Wheelchair Basketball Beginner Referee’ course is part of the Coaching Development Programme for Ireland and was developed in partnership with Sport Ireland Coaching. It is designed to provide participants with information around basic refereeing concepts and skills to support them to become competent and confident in refereeing a wheelchair basketball game.

Why

The course is designed to grow the wheelchair basketball family and support those who are interested in becoming involved in refereeing wheelchair basketball games with IWA-Sport. The course is also open to individuals who wish to learn more about the sport of wheelchair basketball.

Who

  • The course is suitable for those passionate about sport and who want to learn more about the sport of wheelchair basketball.
  • It is suitable for all, no previous experience or qualifications in refereeing are required
  • Please note attendees must be 16+ years of age prior to the course start date.

Further Information

Attendees need to complete all 3 days to received certification. Existing referees only need to complete day 3 as an up-skilling workshop.

  • Capacity/No of tickets per event: Max 15 (Entries taken on a first come first served basis)
