Membership

Each request for concession rates (IWA/student/senior/corporate) will be considered on a case by case basis.

IWA gym membership rate is available to registered IWA volunteers provided they are currently active within an IWA program.

Insurance Cover

IWA Sports Centre is covered by Public Liability Insurance but not for personal accident.

Liability and Self-declaration

IWA cannot be held responsible for damages, injuries or loss of possessions. We recommend that all valuables are kept on person while in premises.

CCTV

The IWA Oliver Murphy Sports Centre conducts CCTV monitoring both inside and outside the building in order to provide for a secure and safe environment for all members and guests. There is signage indicating the presence of CCTV monitoring both inside and outside the building and in addition there is a television monitor on the gym floor that displays a live feed of all CCTV monitoring in operation.

Health and Safety

  • IWA’s Sports Centre is staffed by relevantly qualified persons who will implement the highest safety measures and ensure excellent service.
  • Staff instructions are to be adhered to at all times.
  • Machines must be wiped down after use.
  • You must fill in a personal details and health screening form prior to using the fitness suite.
  • Management may request doctors clearance if health concerns arise from the health screening form.
  • Coats, gym bags and accessories are strictly prohibited in the fitness suite. Lockers are provided for storage. Members are also required to have a towel at all times in the fitness suite.
  • All equipment and accessories (weights & dumbbells) must be returned to their original location.
  • It is not permitted for members to train in groups of more than 3during peak periods.

General Rules and Guidelines

  • Gym membership is non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Entry will be refused if valid membership card is not presented.
  • Full fees must be paid in line with procedures stated. Membership will only commence once full payment is received.
  • Gym membership is opened to all individuals from the age of 13 years +
  • All members aged 13-17 must abide by our Youth Facility Use policy.
  • Any member who brings in unauthorized personnel to use the fitness suite without prior agreement from management will have their membership immediately terminated.
  • Gym Membership entitles you to use the gym and studio and its equipment. However management reserves the right to utilize the centre for events or activities it may seem desirable.
  • Membership entitles you to use of the fitness suite only during opening hours. See times listed or ask staff.
  • Membership may be frozen for medical reasons only. A medical certificate will be required in order to freeze membership. Management holds final ruling regarding membership deferral.
  • Membership card must be swiped upon entry.
  • The gym currently closes on Sundays, public and bank holidays and for a short period during the Christmas and Easter terms. Our operating hours during the Christmas and Easter periods will be posted in advance.
  • A maximum usage of 20 minutes applies on all equipment during peak periods.
  • The fitness suites audio and visual entertainments are under the control of centre staff. No member is authorised to change or adjust. If you have a request or query please contact centre staff.
  • No phone calls are to be made or received in the fitness suite. You may use the gym waiting area.
  • Strictly no loitering in the gym or sports centre.
  • Any damage or destruction to IWA property as a result of a members conduct shall be charged appropriately to the offender. IWA-Sports reserves the right to prosecute any such offender.
  • Management reserves the right to terminate membership with immediate effect for conduct deemed damaging to the IWA, gym and/or its members
